"Send it On" was released on August 11, 2009 in the United States to help international environment associations. This pop song reached #20 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100 which was performed by American recording artists Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lavoto, and Selena Gomez billed as "Disney's Friends for Change". The inspirational and empowering lyrics were written by Adam Anders and Nikki Hassman, who wrote the lyrics to "Hoedown Throwdown" for Miley Cyrus, and Peer Astrom.
Joe Jonas, who said that the song contains a "great message", also said the song lets "everyone know" and talks about helping the earth in any way possible. The song grasps the idea of "taking those small steps" that may result in a better Earth said Nick Jonas, the youngest of the Jonas Brothers. The oldest brother of the Jonas Brothers, Kevin Jonas, said it was a "big honor" and that "the vibe [....] is great" since they've "all known each other for years now."
Selena Gomez states: "If I could describe the feeling of performing 'Send It On,' it would have to be very empowering. It's more of a power you can't control. It's very sweet and it's got a message behind it. And I think that's what makes it really beautiful, because it's not just about us wearing cute clothes and performing on the stage, it's about us giving this message.”
Miley Cyrus's favorite line was "One sparks starts a fire" because it is factual and if children pass along its message everyone will be aware. She finds this song to be inspirational because it's "encouraging kids to do it."
"It is very important to us to be good to the environment" states Demi Lovato, who also said the song is part of the a "big movement" which they are trying to achieve.
