Fedex Cup - Next Major or Waste of Time?

User Rating: / 0
PoorBest

In its third year peoiple are still extremely skeptical of the validity of the Fedex Cup. In past years Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh have both runaway with the cup before the playoffs were even over. This year the redesigned point system is supposed to ensure that each player must play all four events at a high level if they are to win the cup. However it remains to be seen if the playoffs will provide the same level of excitement as a major. My guess is that it just will not happen. The Majors have a long history as great tournaments and a held as the defining pieces of great careers. For now at least the Fedex cup is just a way to keep the stars of golf in the field through the allure of money rather than the allure of immortality.
