So with the Summer X games ending, a new era of extreme action sports has emerged. Constantly pushing the envelope since 1995, the X Games are held twice a year (one winter and one summer) and focus on sports that some might dub "extreme" This year the summer games were held in Los Angeles, California and featured events such as Moto X, Skateboarding, BMX, Surfing and Rallying. Each year, all-star athletes show up and defy the laws of gravity and physics for thousands of spectators and it is at the X Games that some of extreme sports’ most famous athletes got their start. Household names such as Tony Hawk, and Shaun White all have graced the stage of the X Games and have each pushed their sports to the next level. From Tony Hawks’s history making 900 in Skateboarding, to Travis Pastrana’s double back flip in Motocross, the X games is a platform for groundbreaking new tricks that help advance the sports. Despite being an extreme sporting event, the X games also allows for a gathering of music, art, culture and news helping the sports involved become more recognized and accepted. Although they are now over, the upcoming winter season promises to be like nothing we have ever seen before, with the Olympics being held in Vancouver and the X Games in Colorado, extreme sports are here to stay.
Here are the top 10 moments from X Games 15.
Honestly I wonder how these guys pull this stuff off...
