Does this guy look nice?
Heralded as one of the NHL's best Patrick Kane seems to be a really pleasant guy. He played a spectacular season for the Chicago Blackhawks and was even the 2007 overall first draft pick. Yet, it seems that this player has a darker side. Not too long ago, August 9th, Kane and his cousin were charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief, and theft of services in Buffalo New York. The reason? It seems that the pair were taking a cab home from a night partying but the cab driver didn't have the exact change for they're fair. He was 20 cents short. Police report that at that point the pair assaulated the driver and were then aprehended by the police. Below is a local news report where the cab driver talks about the assault.
It seems that Kane may be the next NHL star needing an anger management sessions just like Sean Avery. The real question is why it happened. 20 cents isnt a lot of money that's for sure. Was it a case of ego? Did he feel entaiteled because he's a sports start to great service? Or maybe because he's Patrick Kane? Or was it something else? Is he just an asshole on the inside and all took was a few drinks to bring out his inner demons? If that's the case then the Blackhawks need to rethink their prospect choices. If he treats regular people this bad, won't he bring this attitude to his game?
Currenlty Patrick Kane is awaiting a grand jury decision next week that will decided whether he has to face criminal charges for the assault. Kane and his cousin pleaded not guilty.
