Ramadan Mubarak everyone! Today is the fourth day of Ramadan. For those of you who dont know, Ramadan is a religous month in which Muslims fast, or restrain from eating, drinking, and comminting any sin, everyday of the month. Fasting begins at sunrise and Muslims fast until sunset. At sunset prayers are made and the fast is broken with a large meal. After the meal Muslims usually eat special Ramadan treats such as Atayeef and Gulaash. After the feast Muslims meet up for night prayers that begin around 9 and end around 11 p.m this year. After the long day of fasting and prayers they then go home and crash down on there beds to rest. In the morning before sunrise most people wake up to have a small last minute meal so that they wont get too hungry during the rest of the day. nd thus begins another day of ramadan. It may seem like hard work but, it is also great because we get to meet up with other friends who are celbrating it and spend time with them. Muslims also belive that they will be rewarded greatly for this and that by doing this they experience what the poor are experiencing in their stuggle for food and therefore they wont be as greedy and will be thankful for what they have. Even though its a religous month of prayers and deeds, Ramadan can be pretty fun to many people around the world.
