In a recent interview, Abhay Deol shares the secret to his success. Deol, who has starred in hits like Manorama Six Feet Under and Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! is one of my favorite new Bollywood actors. He also starred in Dev. D, a remake of the beloved Devdas. Dev.D is considered to be a new and cutting edge style for Bollywood. The actor said, "I've consciously stayed clear of regular Bollywood." At first I was kind of offended. After all, traditional Bollywood is what I grew up with! But just now, I sat down to catch a couple minutes of Pyaar Ke Side Effects and realized, I love these non traditional Bollywood films, possibly better than the classics I grew up on! And by choosing to stay away from the regular Bollywood film, Abhay Deol has carved a certain image of himself, perhaps a little bit more down to earth than your regular Bollywood star. And that's the thing I like the most about him.
